Vases are one of the most popular objects for decoration at home and in the office. You never have enough vases and they are always a wonderful gift idea - whether for a birthday, Mother's Day, a housewarming or a wedding. Experience the world of floral decoration and discover the variety of shapes and decors of FÜRSTENBERG vases as well as tips from TV florist Björn Kroner.

Individual home decor

It is hard to imagine a modern ambience without vases as decoration. In all shapes and colours, they blend harmoniously into the style of living or create sophisticated accents. The best part: vases can be individually combined in the trendy mix & match trend - whether with or without flowers. Classic shapes match modern designs, puristic white goes hand in hand with strong colours and shiny gold, discreet decor combines with extravagant patterns, large floor vases with charming mini-vases. Flower Bouquets: Tips from Björn Kroner

Expert for fantastic flower arrangements is star florist Björn Kroner. His flowering works of art fit perfectly into our FÜRSTENBERG vases. He has already revealed many tips during demonstrations at the Manufactory Store in Fürstenberg. Here are our three favourites:

  1. Look at your surroundings: Where am I? What is the style of the ambience? Pick up on elements such as colours in the bouquet or deliberately set accents.
  2. Play with proportions. Large and small flowers and branches can be combined individually and create bouquets that tell a story.
  3. Create a focus. A particularly eye-catching flower, a darker leaf or a gnarled branch create a positive tension.

History of the vase

The name vase means vessel. Vases were already being made in antiquity. The oldest objects were found in China and date back to 11-9,000 BC. Vases were also very popular in Mesopotamia, today's Iraq, and of course in ancient Greece. In contrast to today, however, vases were mainly used to store food, drinks or ointments. One of the most famous vase forms of antiquity is the amphora with two handles. Vases were already used for decorative purposes in ancient Greece, but without flowers and instead with elaborate paintings. The trend of decorating with flowers only emerged at the end of the 19th century, when a new prosperity emerged in society at large and comfort and cosiness entered the homes.

Soft pastel for bright blossoms

Favourite vases are the vases that are allowed to stand in the interior design even without flowers. Like the pastel-coloured vases of the FLUEN collection by designer Alfredo Häberli. Smooth transitions that flow into one another and soft pastel tones come together harmoniously while still setting accents. The special, matte-polished finish of the two vases is an exceptional feature that constantly entices you to reach out and touch the items.

Flower inserts - Sophisticated assistants

Sometimes the little things make life easier. With our inserts for the conical vases in white, you can create flower arrangements with ease. The white inserts prevent lovingly arranged bouquets from falling apart. The flower inserts made of porcelain are available with a large opening or many holes in which individual flowers and branches can be arranged. Discreet silicone rings give the inserts a firm hold in the vase. Try it out and discover the florist in you!

Extra tip: care for tulips

Björn Kroner loves tulips, because they are dreamlike in their colour shades and ideally suited for the vase. His tips for tulips at home:

  1. Cut off the lower, large leaf as well as the bent leaves.
  2. Make a short diagonal cut for style.
  3. Fill vase generously with water - tulips are heavy drinkers and take as much as they need.
  4. Put them in the vase, for Björn Kroner preferably pure and simply enjoy the beauty of these messengers of spring.
  5. The right vase is of course important for staging these beauties.
